Abide Ministries / WWEM

The purpose and vision for Abide Ministries & WWEM is twofold. First, we have a promise from Jesus that everyone who “Abides' in Him will have spiritually fruit bearing lives. (Jhn.15:4-5). It therefore stands that instructing and reminding believers of this promise through Biblical teaching is the emphasis of all Abide Ministries events. Pastor/teacher Art Phinney is passionate about helping Christians to know that it is: “…in Him we live and move and have our being!’ (Acts - - -)
Secondly, the joy of corporately worshiping the Lord Jesus through song is unmatched by comparison to worldly events. WWEM is an acronym for Worship Workshops/Education and Mentoring. As a Calvary Chapel pastor and worship leader, pastor Art Phinney has some 30 years of ministry experience. Offering worship leading workshops, education and mentoring for individuals and teams is the purpose of WWEM. Helping to develop worship leaders and teams to excel in their ministries and effectively lead the body of Christ to the throne of God during times of corporate worship.
My Story
I was raised in Oakland, CA. during the turbulent 60's and 70's. With no father figure in the home and a working mother, it wasn't long before the two boys of this house hold were wayward. The years spent searching for truth and purpose brought despair and trouble. Christ became my Savior & Lord in 1980 and the road to discipleship began. Through the tender care and biblical instruction of many men of God, the grace of God has been my portion. As the senior pastor for Calvary Chapel Valley Springs, from 1998-2024 it has been my privledge to instruct new and seasoned believers in the ways of abiding. Having walked with the Lord some 40 plus years I have a desire to encourage, exhort and lead Christians of all ages into the joy of an endless Abiding in Christ.
